Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
These terms are the contract between you and Pianodemy. By creating an account or buying a subscription you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Pianodemy.
Pianodemy is run by Evgenii Sudakov EI, an entrepreneur individuel registered in France. Full company details are on our legal notice page.
1. What Pianodemy is
Pianodemy is a web app that helps you learn to play the piano. It runs in your browser. Nothing is downloaded or installed.
A subscription gives you access to interactive lessons, sheet music for public-domain pieces, practice exercises and progress tracking. You can play along on a connected MIDI keyboard or on the on-screen piano.
We sell access to the app itself. We do not arrange lessons with human teachers, and we are not an intermediary between you and anyone else.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 to create your own account. In France the limit is 15.
- Younger learners are welcome, but the account must be created and supervised by a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on their behalf.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person, one account. Accounts cannot be shared, sold or transferred.
3. Subscription and payment
- The price and the billing period are shown clearly before you pay. That is the price you are charged.
- Prices are in euros and include any tax that applies to you.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- We charge the payment method you gave us at the start of each new period.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- If we ever change the price, we will tell you by email at least 30 days in advance. The new price applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
4. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your account settings, in a few clicks and without calling or writing to anyone.
When you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and it does not renew after that. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
5. Your right to change your mind
If you live in the EU you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase and get your money back. Because Pianodemy gives you access straight away, you are asked to confirm at checkout that you want to start immediately and that you understand this ends your 14-day right once access begins.
Full details, including when we still refund, are on our refund policy page.
6. How you may use Pianodemy
Please do not:
- Harass, abuse or harm other people.
- Upload sheet music or recordings you do not have the rights to.
- Try to reach other people’s accounts or data.
- Copy, scrape or resell any part of the app.
- Use bots or automated tools against the service.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules. If we do, we will tell you why, and we will refund the unused part of your current period unless the account was suspended for fraud.
7. Who owns what
The app, its code, its design and the lesson material are ours.
Anything you create inside Pianodemy - your notes, annotations and practice history - stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it back to you inside your account, and nothing more. We do not use it for anything else and we do not share it.
The musical works we publish are in the public domain, or are our own compositions.
8. Availability
We work to keep Pianodemy running, but we cannot promise it will never be down or never have bugs. We may change or retire features. If we retire something significant, we will tell you in advance.
9. Our liability
Pianodemy is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing here removes rights that French or EU consumer law gives you and that cannot be signed away.
10. If something goes wrong
Write to us first at [email protected]. We answer within 2 working days and most things are sorted there.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If we cannot agree, the French courts have jurisdiction. As a consumer you can also bring a claim in the country where you live.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will email you before it takes effect. Carrying on using Pianodemy after that date means you accept the new version.
