About this arrangement

Jean-Baptiste Duvernoy taught piano at the Paris Conservatoire. His Op. 176, École primaire, is a set of 25 elementary studies, each built on one skill.

Each half bar is one hand shape. Set the shape before you play it and let the hand rotate slightly toward each note instead of reaching. The dynamics alternate p and mp every bar, so shape each group as a small swell.

Start with short loops.

Use the section list as a practice map. Start at 50% tempo, loop one section, then return to the full piece once the hand shape feels stable.

Choose Right or Left to focus on one hand. Wait for note checks the highlighted notes as you play them on the screen or a connected MIDI keyboard.
