Elementary Studies, Op. 176 No. 5
About this arrangement
Jean-Baptiste Duvernoy taught piano at the Paris Conservatoire. His Op. 176, École primaire, is a set of 25 elementary studies, each built on one skill.
Practise both hands on the running figure, since each gets a turn. Keep the notes even and legato under each slur, and do not let the held chords in the other hand get louder than the moving line.
Start with short loops.
Use the section list as a practice map. Start at 50% tempo, loop one section, then return to the full piece once the hand shape feels stable.
Choose Right or Left to focus on one hand. Wait for note checks the highlighted notes as you play them on the screen or a connected MIDI keyboard.
Before you practice.
