Elementary Studies, Op. 176 No. 12
About this arrangement
Jean-Baptiste Duvernoy taught piano at the Paris Conservatoire. His Op. 176, École primaire, is a set of 25 elementary studies, each built on one skill.
Keep each three-note figure light and connected, and lift the hand at the end of the slur. Count the rests carefully so the two hands join into one even line of eighth notes. Follow the cresc. and dim. marks, and slow down at the ritard. before the soft ending.
Start with short loops.
Use the section list as a practice map. Start at 50% tempo, loop one section, then return to the full piece once the hand shape feels stable.
Choose Right or Left to focus on one hand. Wait for note checks the highlighted notes as you play them on the screen or a connected MIDI keyboard.
